Some time last year I looked at the compensatory pick issue and thought the Titans might get a good one for Jared Cook. Unfortunately, the numbers tell otherwise and the Titans will likely not be getting a compensatory pick in the 2014 draft. The compensatory picks formula is as well guarded as the nuclear codes, but it is generally understood they are doled out on a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors.
In order to qualify for a compensatory pick, a team must have lost more valuable free agents than they signed. The league determines this based on the concept of net gains versus net losses but it is generally agreed that a team must lose more free valuable free agents than they gained. The Titans only lost 4 players who played in 2013 at their respective positions, and gained 10 free agents that played significantly for them. Therefore, it seems very unlikely the Titans will receive a compensatory pick.
So without further ado, here are the list of free agents the Titans lost as well as the ones they signed by numbers and playing time.

Spencer signed a 1 year $905,000 million dollar contract with the Titans. He played in 3 games earning 61.2% of the snaps in those games.
KR/PR Leon Washington
Washington wasn’t signed until Week 13 but I include him anyway since he played significantly on special teams. He signed a 1 year $840,000 dollar deal. He played in the remaining 5 games with 17 returns for 500 yards. He had 6 punt returns for 78 yards.
I did not include Quinn Johnson or Kevin Matthews for obvious reasons and Kevin Walter never made it to the active roster. Rob Turner only played 6 games and was placed on IR. Rusty Smith and Khalid Wooten were obviously original draft selections on the practice squad before they were signed to the 53 man roster. QB Tyler Wilson was signed on December 16, 2013.
