Houston Texans (4-5)

Cleveland Browns (6-3)

First Energy Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio

Kickoff Sunday, November 16, 12:00 PM on CBS

texans browns comp

It’s Ryan Mallett time for the Texans as they turn away from former starter Ryan Fitzpatrick after losing four of their last five games. The Texans are coming off a bye but Arian Foster is questionable and not expected to play so expect a ton of Alfred Blue.

For the Browns, tight end Jordan Cameron remains out but they should get their leading receiver back in Andrew Hawkins. Josh Gordon will return to the team next week and should be available for Week 12 but not this matchup. The Texans defense is banged up so the Browns should be able to make some noise. The Browns currently own first place in the AFC North but still have to face Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Baltimore.

Steelers Titans comp

The Titans get the Monday Night Football game but this is really the premier matchup in the division. The Colts own the league’s most prolific passing attack with Andrew Luck while Tom Brady and the Patriots are rolling after starting out rather slow. This game is a great matchup for a lot of reasons besides Brady and Luck but let’s face it that’s the best part of the game.

The Patriots have the better secondary and they will need because the Colts have a ton of options. Unlike last year’s playoff game, this year the Colts will have veteran Reggie Wayne in addition to up and coming rookie Donte Moncrief. They also have tight end Dwayne Allen back and all he does is score touchdowns. The Patriots secondary is good but they are banged up along the defensive line and at linebacker.

Steelers Titans comp

On paper the Steelers are clearly the better team. They might be on the field too. Neither secondary is very good but the Steelers at least have an offense that can take advantage. The Steelers are 4th in the league in passing putting up 297.6 passing yards per game. Ben Roesthisberger cooled down against the Jets but has been on fire lately and has thrown 23 touchdowns versus 5 interceptions. Two of those interceptions were against the Jets.

The Titans aren’t a very good football team and have turned to rookie Zach Mettenberger at quarterback. In his two starts Mettenberger has struggled behind a leaky offensive line. The run game has been lackluster as well so the Titans will need to get their offense going early and keep it going this time to have a chance to win. They will likely be without their leading receiver in Delanie Walker.

Final score prediction:

Steelers 31

Titans 17

The Jacksonville Jaguars are on their bye.
