Sensabaugh Partners with Second Harvest Food Bank

Tennessee Titans defensive back Coty Sensabaugh has partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to help feed more than 125 families at Second Harvest’s monthly food distribution at Loaves & Fishes in East Nashville from 12 pm to 2 pm on Friday, December 5, 2014. Second Harvest hosts its Loaves & Fishes on the first Friday of every month.

Sensabaugh is making a one time distribution of an an additional 2,000 pounds of non-perishable, staple pantry items. He also donated $1,000 to assist in underwriting the cost of the additional canned items. This will allow Sensabaugh and his teammates to volunteer their time to distribute more than 12,000 pounds of perishable and non-perishable food.

Per the press release, Sensabaugh has the following to say:

“Hunger is an issue that everyone must stand up to. When one of us is hungry, we all are hungry. We all must take an active approach to combat this problem. Second Harvest is doing amazing things in the middle TN area and across the country to combat hunger and I am honored and grateful that have allowed us to partner with them.”

The additional distribution is expected to provide more than 125 families with additional resources to help feed themselves and their families.

Jaynee Day, President and CEO of Second Harvest, had the following to say about Sensabaugh’s gesture:

“As the holiday season approaches, it is more important than ever to provide emergency food assistance to our neighbors in need. “We are grateful for Coty’s continuous generosity and his willingness to recruit his teammates to join our fight against hunger.”

Second Harvest Food Bank was founded in 1978 to provide a central distribution center for companies, groups and individuals who wished to help provide food for hungry people in Middle Tennessee. Per it’s mission statement, it was founded to feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in the community. From his first days as a Titan, Sensabaugh has been active in the community and this is the not the first time he has partnered with Second Harvest. He is also not the first Tennessee Titans player to partner up with Second Harvest. The Titans have long been supporters of the great work being done there.

Sensabaugh is also very active in the fight against leukemia and last year was nominated for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man of the Year Award. This past April, he hosted his second annual “Dine with the Titans for a Cure” fundraiser to help Titans Cheerleader Chasity Adkisson’s campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Woman of the Year Award.
