I have written several times about the Tennessee Titans failure to provide help to its struggling offensive line. Given the issues over the past few weeks, I decided to go back and look at the numbers per Pro Football Focus offensive snap breakdown. They are not good.
Of 791 offensive snaps over the course of 14 weeks of play, the Titans have used their running backs in pass protection 88 times. They have used their tight ends a grand total of 43 times in pass protection. They have not used any wide receivers in pass protection.
I did not include defensive lineman Karl Klug who gets about one offensive snap per game. He has not been used in pass protection.
Assuming these numbers are correct, that is simply unacceptable.
